quick as a fox!

Here are my little heartbreakers in their foxy hats.
They were baby shower gifts, what seems a million years ago.
They are my Boys of Summer!

I See You

I took this the other day.
Walked in to check on them because it was too quiet...
found the little men just looking at each other,
taking it in that
There Is Another One of Me Around Here!
They probably stared at each other for 2 minutes straight.
I loved the moment.

Can you tell who's who? Big boys and little boys?

Though it's hard to see the babies' faces on this one,
so I won't hold it against you if you mix them up.

two peas in a pod

In the middle of the night last night I just couldn't stand it, I missed my babies. So I drove down to the hospital for some snuggling. Their nurse Susie is so fabulous, she said it was time that I held them BOTH. I can't tell you how full my heart was. The most perfect 2am I ever had.

Stella drew pictures for the boys. Our nurse taped them up so they can admire her artwork :)

WE ARE READY FOR YOU TO COME HOME.

the two brothers

The Two Brothers
or "The Wittle Ones" as Stella calls them.

NICU math lesson:

Can you believe that both of them together weigh what Stella weighed at birth?

Adam, 4lbs 2 oz + Ben, 4lbs 1oz

=

Stella, 8lbs 3oz

First bottle feedings!

At 34 weeks they start preemies on the bottle. On their second day the boys ate their
entire bottles! The nurse and OT were shocked - they said it's very uncommon for
34 weekers to do this... we were not surprised in the least. We're getting the extra fridge
ready in the garage and are upgrading our Costco membership!

Ben - still figuring it out

together again!

Adam & Ben

The boys are doing great! They both have their PICC lines (deep vein IV's) out as of today, so less wires means... we could get them together! We got to put them side by side. I think they must miss each other! So, what do you think? We were surprised how much they were looking alike. Though when they're awake, they do each have a different look. What a great date night: just me and J in the NICU with A&B.

Coming up this week: big boy baths!

September 19, 2010

she's a big sis now

Stella was all smiles to meet The Two Brothers, as she calls them. She even whispered
and walked on her tiptoes in the NICU to keep the volume down for the babies.
I asked her what she thought of them: "So cute! They have cute noses!".

.
She will looove this picture one day.

.

And how bad can it be to come to the NICU every day when this is the view? Lucky babies!

THE BOYS!

They are here!

Born on September 7th, Adam and Ben are doing great in the NICU. I was having
contractions that couldn't be stopped after being on bed rest for a week in the hospital.
They are 9 weeks early but have no serious problems - they're in the growing and feeding
stage right now and are really tough and amazing little men!
.
Adam Wayne

16 1/2 inches

.
Benjamin Charles
3 pounds, 6 ounces
16 1/2 inches

.
Something we thought was really neat was the positions they presented in when they were delivered. Adam was vertex - head first - just like Jason was, and Ben was breech - feet first - just like uncle Justin was. History repeats itself!
.
I have been posting pics more frequently on facebook because it's easier (I can do it from
my phone), so add me or Jason if you aren't already a 'friend' if you want to see more of
the little boys.

Here are our sons.

little faces

Here are the boys' pics from our 4D ultrasound. Adam (baby A) was the superstar and was not camera shy in the least. Ben wasn't so cooperative, probably because he was being kicked in the face by Adam, the poor guy. The fighting begins already!

I can't wait to hold them.

belly.

Here it is, for you silly people asking to see the bigness. Belly at 22 weeks.
Stella had to be in the pic too and is wearing my shirt.

one of the many reasons....

.... I am looking forward to having boys! When the tag line is, "The coolest you'll look pooping your pants," how do you not buy these?!
