Draeger art

I was cleaning out our horrific office and came across our friend Chris Clark's business card. He had done a sketch of us for our wedding gift, and had used a part of our portrait as the background of the card (my eye!). I checked out his website and there we are. It was many years ago, but I still think it's such a neat thing. Thanks again, Chris.

we ate this and survived.

My bff Gina was here from Virginia and we pretty much partied for a week. We hit the fair for a concert, then we saw this. Can you believe it exists, leave it to the fair carnie people to create strange foods. It tasted like... chocolate and bacon. Gina added salt on hers, as was recommended. Take it from us: now you don't need to waste $5 trying it.

{ Congrats GinaB on your baby boy!!! We found out while she was here :) }

my name in print

My dad did this for me when they rebuilt the pier. About every year or so I go look to make sure my name is still there... I think it's pretty cool.

wordle

This website is really neat - you type in your text and can create these word clouds. I did "O Holy Night" since it is my favorite Christmas carol, and printed it out to be framed. It would also make cute cards. My friend (thanks KM!) plugged in the text from the blog and it came up all Stella and pink and cute - I'm going to put it up in her room.

stella kournikova

My cousin Neena sent this tennis outfit to Stella, so we had to go down to the courts and play. Baby girl loved it! Thanks for a really cute outfit and an hour of fun!

2 out of 3...

... of us are celebrities. That's right! In my household, I am the only no-name. Recently, some of my friends found these dolls online and emailed me (thanks for the laughs!), so I thought I would put out an official press release and some pictures! Though I realize now, by putting this out here, we will never again win the "One Lie, One Truth" party game.

Meet baby Joey Stivic, played by Jason and his twin brother Justin when they were newborns. Born in Santa Monica, their parents were approached about being on All In The Family as Meathead's son/Archie Bunker's grandson. The infamous doll was "anatomically correct" - very controversial in the 70's - and when you feed it a bottle it "wets."

I found a baby Joey doll on Ebay back when I was in college, thinking I would surprise Jason with this great relic from his Hollywood past. He had never mentioned it, so I didn't think he knew about it. When I gave it to him he laughed and said, "Oh, you found out about the doll." So much for my $50 gift!

Here are some shots from the set:

Justin with "Gloria" - how prophetic that fire truck was!

Jason with "Archie"

The All In The Family season 6 DVD is in stores NOW!!!
(I couldn't resist!)

Our other famous one is the little girl. OK, the doll was not made after her - that's really hard to beat - but there does exist a Baby Stella doll and I do have one of those too. Complete with magentic paci and "pebbles" hairstyle! Aren't we just a family of celebrities... except me. Ahh, I will just be happy playing with my dolls. Of my family.

Autographs available upon request.

*Added on 7/11/08 - A friend reminded me today that I have a song named after me, so I guess that evens everything out! {FYI my maiden name is Lee.}

foot for thought

Aunt Jenn gave the baby these shoes. Aren't they so sweet. Getting a little tight with those cankles, though, so I took this shot to remember them cause they won't fit much longer...
As we plan her 1st birthday I can't believe how this year has flown by, how each day has more joy than the last, and how we love her just a little more each day. What a miracle you are, Stella Bella!

1990 was rad

At this site you can upload your picture and reminisce
about the good old days... Sad that my picture in 1990 is
not too far off of this one!! And too bad you can't see
my shoe boots down below ;) Agggh.

just like Dad

So the "goats" and the lips are from Mommy...
what did Stella get that is from Daddy?

Hairstyle!

RAH RAH, SIS BOOM BAH!

Here's our little cheerleader...

8 months old and already shakin' the pom poms!

Now you see where the cankles come from...
Just like Mom's goats!
In case you don't know the story, we were in
Yosemite in the summer and an older man
was chatting with us and asked if we had been hiking
and we said Yes. He said, "Well I bet with THOSE
(pointing to my legs) you just ran up that mountain
like a little mountain goat!"
So now my legs are affectionately known as Goats.

Do you believe in Fairies?

....we believe!

Hand in hand, with fairy grace
Will we sing, and bless this place.

Stella loves bath time! Thanks to my friend Megan,
she looks adorable after bathing too!
The hoodie-towel is from Hollyhoods in case you need one :)
Thanks, Meg!

first bites & big splashes

Ok, I know the camera adds 10 pounds (and that's
a lot when you're only 17 pounds to begin with!)... but does
it also add red hair? Who is this kid with the double chin?
My husband affectionately calls her Farley because of
this picture :). Here she is eating her first bites of rice cereal - yum!

And Stella loves bath time... here she is with her Pelican friend.

mamma mia!

What a happy day! I am so glad to be a Mom to this little girl.
Thank you to my sweet husband for all you did for me today...
flowers, chocolate, a sweet bracelet (made from typewriter keys!)
and some great food. AND I got to sleep in. I loved
being at church with him and my girl.
Stella and I wore matching bracelets that I made.
A perfect day.

made you smile!

What a silly chunky monkey! Can you believe this girl -
100th percentile in height and 97th in weight! And loving every minute!
